Silk Painting Class

This 5 week class will give you a great foundation to begin your new obsession with silk painting, and creating wearable art.  Focusing on process we will experiment with color, play with pattern and be seduced by the flow of paint and dye on silk. Half the classes will be spent exploring Chinese silk painting techniques and the other half exploring Shibori, the ancient Japanese fiber art of bound resist dyeing. Participants will leave this experience thrilled with the exquisite wearable and frameable artworks they create.

Painting Class- Variety of Mediums

Join us as we delve into painting. Explore different mediums to find what you enjoy working with best.  Our instructors will help you relax and find your new favorite time- paint time!  Participants will learn the basic technique and take home completed artwork. Helpful critiques will ensure that class members get the most out of their lessons. Create your own compositions using inspiration artwork, your drawings or your own photo references. Develop concept sketches of your piece and transition into completed works. 
Painting will include Watercolor, Acrylic and Multimedia & can vary each session.

Wheel Throwing and Hand building Ceramics for Adults

Satisfy your curiosity, and experience a fun and thorough introduction to throwing on the potter’s wheel, and handbuilding. Learn the skills necessary to throw cylinders, cups, bowls and more in this exciting introduction to throwing fundamentals. Your instructor guides you through the process of throwing, shaping and trimming pots on the wheel.  Basic surface decoration and glazing techniques are also demonstrated. This class is designed for students with little or no experience on the potter’s wheel, but can grow into an experienced group the longer you work on skills.  New skills taught each session that will build on prior knowledge, but beginners always welcome!

Media Options Include:

*Processing fees will apply to any credits for cancelled classes. We will swap days with no fee, or credit full amount in your account for future use. No refunds for classes- studio credit only.
